Mr Bruce Flint

Mr Bruce Flint is the Managing Director and has:

  • a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Accounting,
  • Completed the Professional Year/CA Program through the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants,
  • Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia,
  • a Certificate of Public Practice with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia,
  • a Graduate Certificate of Forensic Studies majoring in Accounting,
  • a Certified Member with the Association of Fraud Examiners,
  • Certificate III in Investigative Services, and
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigation.

Bruce has over a fifteen years of experience within the accounting profession. He has spent three years as an auditor and ten years in commercial accounting for private and publicly listed companies. From August 2001 he has provided profitable solutions to the legal profession and the insurance industry for income protection risk management and personal and commercial litigation support.

Experience has been obtained in many industries including:

  • biotechnology,
  • hospitality, hotel and resort,
  • information technology,
  • mining and exploration,
  • primary production (timber and saw milling, cattle, cropping and viticulture),
  • property investment,
  • professional service,
  • trade service,
  • real estate,
  • retailing,
  • transport,

Being a financial controller for both private and publicly listed companies, consulting to start up businesses as well as the restructuring and ongoing management of those companies, provides sufficient experience to understand and deal with the issues facing business today. Bruce continues to consult to private companies.

Mr Dean Kelly

Mr Dean Kelly is a forensic accounting consultant and has:

  • a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Accounting and Finance - degree with Distinction,
  • completed the CPA Program,
  • is a member of CPA Australia,
  • Certificate III in Investigative Services, and
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigation.

Professional experience has been gained through roles including the then, Coopers & Lybrand, Westpac Financial Services, Queensland Investment Corporation, Zurich Financial Services, Dresdner RCM Global Investors and Transpacific Industries.

Mr Clinton Towers

Mr Clinton Towers is a forensic accounting and computer and data forensics consultant and has:

  • a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Diploma IT Professional Practice, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) - Awarded - First Class Honours,
  • a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting), University of Sydney,
  • a Diploma of Chartered Accounting, Institute of Chartered Accounting, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia,
  • Diploma of Policing, Australian Federal Police College,
  • Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Safecity Training Academy, and
  • Professional membership with the:
    • Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia,
    • Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and
    • Computing Technology Industry Association.

Professional experience has been gained through roles including:

  • KPMG
  • Independent Commission Against Corruption,
  • Australian National Audit Office,
  • Australian Federal Police, and
  • United Nations Civilian Police.

Mr Clinton Towers is highly trained to locate, collect, analyse, preserve and authenticate any potential digital evidence. The service provides for the protection of digital evidence from alteration, damage, data corruption or other events that would destroy evidence produced during the forensic examination.

Mr Tony O'Leary

Mr Tony O'Leary has over 38 years experience in the insurance industry.

Tony's education, professional qualifications and affiliations are:

  • Fellow of the Assurance Medical Society (FAMS),
  • Diploma in Medical Underwriting (DMU (AMS)),
  • Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), and
  • Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Since 1971, Tony has been working in the Life & Health insurance and reinsurance risk management business. Tony has provided underwriting opinions for leading insurance companies.

Tony has worked around the world in the insurance industry.  In his long and disguinshed career, Tony has served in many roles with the majority of the time spent in the key disciplines of Life and Disability Insurance Underwriting and Claims, including price, product development, marketing and sales.

Tony was Managing Director of the European division of a major global re insurer as well as business leader for an Asian reinsurance operation.

Tony received the honorary award of a Fellow of the Assurance Medical Society for his contribution to insurance medicine.

Mr Barry Fay

Mr C B (Barry) Fay is a retired Detective Senior Sergeant of Police who served for 32 years with the NSW Police Force. Mr Fay has over 43 years of criminal investigation experience in Australia.

He fully qualified as a fingerprint expert whilst attached to the NSW Police Force and, in September 1993 (on retirement) commenced working for the private sector as an independent fingerprint examiner.
 
Over the years, Mr Fay has given expert fingerprint testimony in many Courts of Law including some Royal Commissions such as the Blackburn Royal Commission and the inquiry into Black Deaths in custody.
 
In 1992, Mr Fay received the 'Peter Mitchell Award' for services rendered, which is recognised as one of the highest awards issued by the NSW Police Service.

Ms Jia (Lillian) Li

Ms Lillian Li is an accredited specialist interpreter at the professional level and professional translator (between Chinese and English in both directions) based in Sydney. Ms Li's is accredited through the NAATI (Accreditation Number 63116) and provides:

  • correspondence translation at the professional level,
  • mobile interpreting, and
  • face to face interpreting.

Ms Li provides specialist services to Flint Forensics Pty Ltd on an as required basis and to the general public as part of her own business. Ms Li is also a trainer at the Sydney Institute of Interpreting and Translating.

Ms Li also has the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in English Arts, Qingdao University of Science and Technology (located in Qindao, China)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Interpreting and Translation, University of Western Sydney, and
  • a Master's degree in Business, University of Newcastle.

Flint Forensics Pty Ltd view is that from a client service perspective, the face to face interpreting is the preferred service in Sydney only. All interpreting for other areas in Australia are conducted via the mobile service.

With Ms Li's business degree behind her it helps that she understands the principals behind what she is interpreting.
